Posters and Book Pins®

Miss Rumphius poster by Barbara CooneyOver the years, prominent local artists and craftspeople have produced an assortment of unique items which are available for purchase to support the library. Among them are our Book Pins® and Barbara Cooney posters.

The late Barbara Cooney, the Caldecott Award-winning author/illustrator of “Island Boy,” “Miss Rumphius,” and many other popular children’s books, provided a limited number of signed copies of an illustration from “Miss Rumphius,” one of her most popular books, to help our capital campaign effort. Unfortunately, these have sold out. We do, however, have a limited number of unsigned copies from the same press run available for $100 each.

Produced by Lucinda of Scarborough, each pin is an original creation. Colors range from soft pastels to deep, powerful primary colors. The only problem you’ll have is making your selection: the choices are all good! Many people buy several for themselves, and several to give as gifts. Priced at only $13, the Book Pins® are perfect stocking stuffers, great presents for friends, children, graduates, teachers, and especially librarians; and for everyone who loves reading, learning and libraries.

Ask about these items at the front desk and watch for news about other gifts made available to Skidompha for fund-raising purposes throughout the year.

Earnings from the sales of the posters and Book Pins® are used to help finance the library’s operating budget. For more information contact the library at 563-5513 or drop by.
